How much does a website cost in Nigeria?

A small business website in Nigeria costs ₦75,000 to ₦450,000 to build, plus about ₦25,000 to ₦60,000 a year to keep running: the domain, hosting and email. Anything advertised below ₦50,000 is usually a template with someone else’s name on the domain, which you pay for again when you leave.

The expensive mistake is not overpaying. It is paying twice: once for a cheap site on somebody else’s domain and hosting account, and again eighteen months later to rebuild what you were never given.

What changes the number

Page count, whether it takes money, and how much of the content already exists. A five-page site for a business that has its photographs, prices and a clear offer is quick. The same site for a business still deciding what it sells is not.

Payments, bookings, a product catalogue or a login area each add real work: not because the feature is hard, but because each one adds a way for things to go wrong that has to be handled.

The costs nobody quotes

A domain is roughly ₦8,000 to ₦20,000 a year. Hosting is ₦15,000 to ₦40,000 a year for a small site. Business email on your own domain is a few thousand naira per person per month. None of these are optional and all of them recur, so a quote that omits them is not a lower price: it is a shorter list.

When a website is the wrong first purchase

If your Google listing is unclaimed and your email address is a Gmail one, a website is not where the money goes first. Those two are cheaper, faster, and they are what a customer checks before they ever reach a website.

We say so in the Health Check when it is true, including when it means we sell you less.

₦75,000 to ₦450,000 for most small business sites, plus around ₦25,000 to ₦60,000 a year for the domain, hosting and business email. Larger projects with payments, bookings or logins run higher.

Domain renewal, hosting, business email, and occasional updates. Budget ₦25,000 to ₦60,000 a year for a small business site excluding any marketing.
